Pallet Making Process

Domestic enterprises primarily use two methods to manufacture plastic pallets: injection molding and hollow blow molding.

Injection-molded pallets are typically produced in a single step using low-pressure, high-density polyethylene (HDPE). Their raw material costs are lower than those of blow-molded pallets, and they are currently widely used in the domestic market. Injection molding is suitable for producing pallets with complex shapes and high rigidity requirements, as well as for high-volume production runs. However, the process entails high mold costs and significant investment. It results in minimal flash and requires very little post-processing. The molding cycle is short-typically around three minutes-yielding products with precise dimensions and high surface quality.

Key parameters to consider in the injection molding process for pallets include: 1) clamping force; 2) shot size (injection volume); 3) injection pressure; 4) plasticizing capacity and time; 5) cycle time; and 6) mold design (hot runner molds should be used to reduce clamping force and improve product quality).
